For the Spring-Summer 2023 season, Co-Creative Directors Georges and Jad Hobeika look to the beauty, grace and gregarious nature of the flamingo in a collection fit for emancipated young women flocking together to cultivate their own exotic dream world.
Against a backdrop of giant blue fantasy flamingos, a series of bold, modern silhouettes channel myriad eras, couture fabrics and techniques. Neoclassical draped chiffon column dresses in vibrant shades exude simple elegance, while drop-shaped mirror and sequin embroideries flow down the busts, hips, and hems of gowns, like glistening waterfalls. A liberating mood embodying magic and glam meets pop on color-block constructions, mixing acid hues with gold on portrait collar and spaghetti-strap dresses with sparkling pleated hems, and clashing turquoise and aqua blue on ultra-graphic pantsuits and a long cape and pant ensemble emblazoned with a flamingo motif.
Experimenting with design styles, gradient pastel rainbow swaths add romance to pieces bridging athleisure and couture. Alongside are asymmetrical dresses with peek-a-boo cut-outs, sexy black bodices and richly beaded swimwear-inspired pieces worn with skirts and capes. A sprinkling of men’s looks mix a modern casual attitude with the house’s couture treatments, such as an embroidered light-blue jersey tank encrusted with crystal details and rosette flowers paired with brightly colored silk jersey shorts. Heightening the dreamy vibe, soft feathery clouds spring from the hems of youthful short coat dresses while kaleidoscopes of glittering embroidered butterflies alight onto brightly colored gowns.
